Dropped $400 on a high-end air purifier for my basement and it caught fire after 2 weeks, what do I even do now?
The thing started smoking at 3am and woke me up with that burnt plastic smell, has anyone else had a filter or fan unit just give out like that or did I get the one dud from the batch?

Man my buddy got one of those expensive ones for his woodshop and the thing literally melted a hole in his workbench. He was pissed but also kinda impressed it didn't burn the house down.

Brian's buddy is lucky. A melted workbench is one thing. A basement fire at 3am is another level of scary. Bet that brand has some explaining to do.
