Noticed a unique tree on my street and ended up planning a solo camping trip

I was walking my dog around the block yesterday and saw this twisted, ancient-looking oak in someone's front yard. It made me think about how many odd trees might be out in state forests nearby. So I looked up a park with old growth woods about three hours away and booked a spot for myself this weekend. I'm packing light, just a tent, some food, and a good book. The idea of sitting alone under big trees with no noise sounds perfect right now. Has anyone else done a solo trip because of something simple they saw at home? I'd love to hear about other spur-of-the-moment adventures people have taken.

Feel like I notice that a lot, where some tiny detail just flips a switch in your head. Makes you want to shake up your whole routine. Hope your trip is awesome.

Actually find it's the big stuff that gets me moving. Like a really bad day at work that makes you finally update your resume. Those small moments are nice but they don't stick around long enough to change anything for me.

Totally disagree that only big stuff gets you moving. Like jana_sanchez96 said about tiny details flipping a switch, that's more real for me. A bad day at work is a short burst of panic. It's the small, quiet moments that add up and actually change your mind for good. They build a real reason to do something, not just a quick reaction. Big drama fades, but consistency from noticing the small things sticks.

Yeah, that "sitting alone under big trees" idea is exactly what I need sometimes. Like @jana_sanchez96 said, a tiny detail can spark a trip - I once drove to a lake after seeing a weird cloud shape.
