Cover-up artists was right about laser sessions... I should have listened
My artist told me to do 3 laser removal sessions before covering up my ex's name, but I thought I could just go dark. Now you can still see the letters poking through my new design and I'm out another $400 fixing it. Anyone else cheap out on prep and regret it?

@nelson.vera does that "shadow effect" actually fool anyone or just you?

Laser first. Always. Saves so much headache.

Man, that's rough. I did the exact same thing with a tramp stamp cover up back in 2012. Thought I could just go heavy on the ink and hide everything, but nope - the old letters still peek through like some kinda ghost. Ended up spending twice what I would have if I'd just done the laser first like a smart person. Now I tell everyone it's a "shadow effect" in the design and pretend I meant to do it that way.
