Question about covering up a tribal band on my forearm

Paid $400 for a 3-session laser removal plan that barely faded the ink, then got a $200 dark floral sleeve coverup that actually hides it completely and looks way better.

Paid $400 for a 3-session laser removal plan that barely faded the ink" - sounds like you got ripped off on both the laser and the coverup. $200 for a full dark floral sleeve coverup that actually hides it? That's suspiciously cheap dude. Either the artist gave you a killer deal or you're about to fade into that tribal band in two years when the cheap ink starts showing through.

I mean hey, at least you got a story out of it, right? Mine's the opposite - paid way too much for a coverup that still looks like a blurry shadow of my ex's name underneath. Guess we're both winning at losing money on bad decisions.

Tbh you're probably right about my cheap coverup. The artist was a friend of a friend who does good work but I'm not holding my breath on it staying dark. My ex's name is still peeking through on my rib tattoo too, even after like 6 laser sessions. We're both just walking around with permanent reminders of bad choices I guess.

OH man that is TOUGH. I had a buddy who did the same thing, paid a small fortune for a laser package that barely touched his ex's name. He went back to the clinic three times and the guy kept saying "just a few more sessions" but it never faded much. He finally gave up and got this MASSIVE black and gray coverup from an artist who actually knew what they were doing. Cost him double what he spent on the laser but at least you can't see that name anymore unless you really stare. I think some of those laser places just take your money and hope you forget about it. Sounds like you and sean854 got the SAME raw deal just from different angles.
