Realized I was killing my cheap earbuds by storing them wrong for 6 months

I kept wrapping the cable tight around my phone and wondered why the left side always died first. Saw a guy at the bus stop just loosely coiling his and it clicked that I was basically breaking the connection every day on purpose. Anybody else find out they were mishandling cheap tech in a dumb obvious way?

Figured out how many hours of listening time you actually lost from the tight wraps? Like I wonder if I was only getting half the lifespan I could've had.

Yeah I did the exact same thing. Switched to a loose figure-eight coil and they last way longer now.

Oh come on, it can't be that big of a deal. I've wrapped my cords tight for years and my earbuds still work fine. @price.ben is probably just lucky they lasted longer.
