Just realized a coworker's blunt feedback saved me hours of frustration
She told me my Excel macros were "overengineered garbage" and showed me a simpler way using pivot tables. I cut my monthly report time from 3 hours down to 45 minutes after that Tuesday afternoon chat. Anyone else get a reality check that actually helped?

Honestly this is a perfect example of why I think we all need people who just tell it straight. So many times we get caught up in making things complicated because we think it shows we're smart or working hard. But the real skill is knowing when to strip it back and use the simplest tool that gets the job done. Ngl I've noticed this pattern everywhere not just at work. People overcomplicate their workouts, their meal prep, even their hobbies because they think more steps equals better results. Tbh your coworker did you a huge favor by cutting through that noise.

omg YES I feel this so hard. I had a friend who literally saved me from a whole complicated "productivity system" I was building for myself with like 15 different apps and color coded lists. She just asked me what I actually needed to get done and I realized I could just use a plain notebook lmao. It's crazy how we convince ourselves more effort equals better outcome when the simplest way is right there.
