Stumbled on the fix for a 6-month-old Bluetooth dropout problem

Was chasing a ghost in my laptop's Bluetooth for months, tried everything from driver rollbacks to registry edits. Turned out unplugging my USB 3.0 hub fixed it instantly. Has anyone else had interference issues with those things?

oh man that brings back a memory. i had this issue with my wireless mouse where it would just freeze for like 5 seconds every time i opened a file from my external hard drive. drove me nuts for weeks. turned out my phone charging cable was running right next to the mouse dongle on my desk. moved the cable like 6 inches away and it never happened again. sometimes the simplest things cause the biggest problems i guess.

Elliotm57 I gotta disagree a little bit here. Sure cable interference is real but Ive had wireless mice for years and never had a phone charger mess with one like that. Maybe it was a cheap dongle or the mouse itself was just old and flaky. Ive seen people blame cables for weird stuff when really the hardware was just on its last legs. Could be worth trying a different USB port too sometimes those are just as flaky as the dongle.

Oh yeah, USB 3.0 hubs are notorious for blasting out interference on the 2.4GHz band.
