That $80 'psychic' reading app I tried felt like a scam from day one
Honestly I downloaded this app called Mystic Vibe or something after I saw an ad on Instagram. It promised a personalized 30 minute video reading for $80. The first 10 minutes were just this person telling me I have 'strong energy' which felt super generic. Then they tried to upsell me a $50 'aura cleansing' session halfway through. I asked for a refund and they told me my refund request was 'blocked by cosmic forces'. Ngl I felt dumb but now I tell everyone to just save their money. Has anyone else tried one of these app based readings and actually got something real out of it?

@dixon.james I had the same experience with a different app called Clairvoyant Connect. The whole thing felt like a cash grab from the start. What actually worked for me was finding a local person who does readings in person for about the same price. My neighbor recommended her and I got to see her workspace and ask questions before paying. It was way more grounded and she never once tried to sell me on some extra service. Your mileage may vary but in my experience the app based stuff is just a trap. Take this with a grain of salt though because I'm pretty skeptical by nature.

I dropped $60 on Mystic Vibe and that aura cleansing pitch made me laugh out loud.

The thing people don't realize is these apps use the same business model as those old school psychic hotlines from the 90s. My aunt actually worked at one back in the day and told me they had scripts and timers. You get 10 minutes of vague stuff, then they hit you with a upsell right as the clock runs down. The "cosmic forces" blocking your refund is just a line from their training manual I bet. What gets me is how they target people who are vulnerable or lonely, not people looking for entertainment. If you really want a reading, go find someone who has been doing it in your local community for years, not some app that popped up last month.
