That time my neighbor's weird cloud spreader turned out to be a real government thing
I live about 12 miles west of Dayton, Ohio, and last September I noticed a small plane spraying something in a grid pattern over the soybean fields near my house. I figured it was just some local crop duster, but then I checked the flight logs online and saw it was registered to a NOAA subcontractor, not any farm. A buddy of mine who works at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base hinted it might be related to atmospheric sampling for cloud seeding tests they've been running since 2019. Has anyone else spotted unmarked planes doing strange patterns over agricultural areas, or am I reading too much into this?

Well that cloud seeding thing is way more real than people think.

Start by asking @sean854 what exactly he thinks cloud seeding is doing that's so serious. I mean they've been doing it since the 40s and we're not all drowning or dying of drought. It's basically just shooting silver iodide into clouds to try and squeeze out a little more rain. Not exactly building a weather machine.
