My coworker spent 20 minutes explaining why he uses internet explorer in 2025

Dude was dead serious saying it's 'less cluttered' and showed me his bookmark folder with 47 tabs, all from 2018. Has anyone else met someone still clinging to ancient browsers for no real reason?

Wait wait wait, hold up. You're actually giving him grief for that? Internet Explorer is literally the GOAT for legacy systems and corporate intranets, plus it doesn't have all the bloatware that Chrome forces on you now. Those 47 tabs from 2018 are probably government forms and old job portals he still checks, which honestly is kind of based.

Buddy of mine still runs IE for his company's ancient payroll portal that literally breaks in every other browser. He keeps six tabs open from 2017 just so he doesn't have to re-enter login info for their vendor sites. Your mileage may vary but I've seen way too many legacy systems that just refuse to work modern.

Walk into any small office in this country and you'll see the same thing. A dusty Dell tower running some version of Windows that hasn't been updated since 2015, just to keep a single critical database alive. My cousin works at a dental practice that still uses a DOS program for patient records. They have a dedicated computer for it that never touches the internet. It's not about being stuck in the past, it's about what actually works for the people using it day in and day out.
