Checked my ex's Venmo history and it wrecked my whole night

I was scrolling through my Venmo feed out of boredom and saw my ex sent $150 to a bar I know we used to go to - on a night she said she was at her sister's place. Found out later she was there with her coworker, the one she swore was just a friend. How do you even begin to trust someone after catching something like that?

Honestly that's the thing about trust isn't it. It's not always about the big dramatic cheating stuff. Sometimes it's the little paper cuts like seeing a stupid Venmo payment that makes you realize how easy it is for someone to just rewrite reality. We get so caught up in believing what people tell us because it's easier than questioning everything. But once you see behind the curtain once you start noticing those gaps between what they say and what they actually do. And then you're stuck wondering if you're being paranoid or if you just finally learned to pay attention.

lol yeah nothing says "trust issues" like a digital paper trail of your ex lying about a bar tab. I mean who knew Venmo would be the plot twist in a relationship detective story. mine lied about being at "the gym" but his PayPal showed a payment to a pizza place 20 miles away at 11pm. guess the treadmill really works up an appetite for pepperoni and lies.
