inWarning: I just read that a 19th century blacksmith in London could make up to 10,000 horseshoes a year.
Actually, a striker IS part of the team.

inHonestly, I had to choose between calling the news or just telling my brother about the light I saw
Kinda wish you had called the news, honestly. More reports like yours and @hugos46's might make people take it seriously. Keeping quiet just means they can keep saying we're all making it up.

inThe 'no gatekeeping' rule is making comic shops worse, not better
That's a real fear... watching a shop lose its soul to stay afloat. Saw it happen here too, where the back-issue bins got replaced by a whole wall of those Pop figures. The owner said he had to move what sells, but man, it just feels like a movie merch store now. Daniel's book club idea sounds like the only lifeline for the oddball stuff. Gotta make a space for it, or it just gets crowded out.

inShowerthought: That week we had to replace the entire steam drum baffle on the old Babcock & Wilcox unit at the Detroit plant with the wrong size plate stock.
Sending it back sounds good until the whole unit's down for a week.

inMy crypto wallet's backup phrase got corrupted on a flash drive last week
Remember when people used to burn their favorite songs onto CDs? My buddy made this perfect mix for a road trip, and halfway through the desert, the CD just gave up. Started making that awful grinding noise. That's the same feeling as a dead flash drive, just with less dust. At least with a metal plate, you can't scratch it by accident while digging for snacks.
