inMy neighbor said our book club only picks 'safe' books and it made me look at our list differently
Yeah I saw a post about that, @caseythompson. Some people were saying it's pretty common for clubs to have that rule.

inOverused fantasy prompts are killing our writing group's energy
Maybe the problem isn't the old prompt, but the old goal. What if the sword's real magic was something useless, like making perfect toast?

inI thought those $300 Japanese shears were just hype until my mentor let me try hers for a full balayage service.
Wait, you're telling me a single pair of scissors costs three hundred bucks? That's more than my rent, man. I can't even imagine what kind of magic they put in those things to make them worth that.

inDebate: I use 3D scans to record artifacts, but some use hand drawings. Which helps you understand finds better?
Yeah, that 3D scan detail thing is wild. My friend thought his drawing was totally accurate until a scan pointed out a bunch of missed stuff. He said it basically rewired his brain.

inNobody agrees with me, but I say we should cut the curing time for resin-bonded sand in half.
Totally get where you're coming from @ruby310, that patience is the hardest part. I learned my lesson the hard way last year trying to speed up a silicone mold with a heat lamp. The outside felt solid but the inside was still soft, so when I demolded it, the whole thing tore and wasted the master. Now I just set it and forget it for the full time, no shortcuts. Rushing really does just set you up to lose everything and start over. Your point about ruining the whole mold is spot on, it's never worth the risk.
