Swapped my old pipe wrench for a strap wrench on kitchen faucets
For years I used a metal pipe wrench on chrome faucet nuts and always left scratches or dents, especially on the ones under the sink in my 1980s Amarillo house. Last month I bought a $18 rubber strap wrench from the hardware store on 6th Street and it grips without marking anything, plus it fits those odd plastic nuts better. Has anyone else made the switch for their bathroom or kitchen fixtures, or do you still trust the metal ones?

Wait, youre telling me you went YEARS scratching up chrome faucets with a pipe wrench before trying a strap wrench? That's like using a sledgehammer to hang a picture frame lol. I made the switch last year and never looked back, those rubber ones are a total game changer.

Took me way too long to figure that out too. I switched after I marred up a brand new kitchen faucet and had to look at those scratches every single day. The strap wrench is all I keep in the tool bag now, saved my butt more than once.
