My AI ethics paper got flagged for plagiarism by a bad detection tool
Turned in a final project on bias in hiring algorithms last week, and the school's system flagged a whole section. I had to show my professor the original notes and drafts to prove it was my own work. Has anyone else had a false positive from an automated checker mess with their grade?

Wait, they flagged a paper about AI ethics for plagiarism? That's like getting a ticket for jaywalking at a protest about traffic laws. What kind of system looks at a paper critiquing the tools and then uses those same flawed tools to judge it? Did your section on algorithmic bias get flagged by an algorithm? The irony is so thick you could trip over it.

Ugh, that's the worst. Always save your rough drafts and notes in a separate folder until the grade is final. I had to do the same song and dance with a philosophy paper last semester.
