That time an AI assistant helped my mom order pizza

Last week I was at my parents' house and my mom, who's 72, wanted to order pizza from a new place. She kept tripping over their website menu and getting frustrated. I set her up with a simple voice AI tool on her phone and she just said "one large pepperoni with extra cheese from Tony's on Maple Street" and it placed the order in seconds. Her face lit up and she goes "that's easier than talking to a real person!" Has anyone else had an older relative finally click with an AI tool like that?

Man that's awesome. It's gotta be such a relief for them when something finally just works without all the headache. Glad your mom found something that clicked for her.

My sister did basically the same thing with our dad last Christmas, he's 78 and was fighting with a grocery delivery app for an hour. She set up voice commands on his phone for simple stuff like reordering milk and bread and suddenly he's using it every week. It's funny how these tools click when they let you skip the annoying parts of technology. I think older folks just want things to work without a bunch of steps they can't remember.

My mom was the same way until I showed her how to just say "Hey Siri call my daughter" and suddenly she's texting me voice messages all day long. Its wild how much they pick up when you remove all the clicking and menu hunting from the equation. The second tech stops feeling like a puzzle they're finally down to use it.
