Everyone says quick jobs don't need full notes, but I write them anyway. It just helped me track down a weird electrical gremlin that stumped the whole crew.

My log is basically a diary of my shame at this point. Got a weird coolant leak? Check the book, turns out I noted a slightly soft hose clamp two years back. Intermittent sensor reading? The book remembers I replaced the connector but not the sensor itself last winter. It's saved my butt more times than I can count.

My own log once had a three-month gap where I was 'too busy' to write stuff down. Totally on your side with this. I keep a rolling text file of every single weird fix, even the two minute ones. That notebook saved me last month with an intermittent heater blower on a 2007 Civic.
