My neighbor said my new fence looked crooked so I grabbed a level and he was right by 2 inches
He pointed it out when he was walking his dog last Saturday and now I'm redoing the whole thing with a string line and a 4-foot level, has anyone else had to tear down a fence they just put up?

You said "he pointed it out when he was walking his dog" like it's a bad thing, but honestly he probably saved you from a bigger headache down the road. A 2 inch lean on a whole fence panel is pretty obvious and will only get worse with rain and ground settling. I've had to tear down stuff I just put up a few times and it stings but it beats having the whole thing fall over in a year.

Man I used to think the same way as you, honestly I'd get annoyed too if someone came up critiquing my work while walking their dog. But after having to redo a gate last year because I ignored a tiny lean, yeah I get it now. That guy probably did you a solid even if it stung at the time. Tbh a 2 inch lean is way past the "keep an eye on it" stage, you're looking at a full collapse if you wait too long. Better to fix it now and be annoyed than rip it all out later.

My buddy Tom had the same thing happen with a deck he just built, @aaron740 is right about the lean getting worse over time because Tom's neighbor noticed a slight tilt and sure enough six months later that corner was three inches off the ground.
