Wasted $1,200 on a cheap spray foam insulation crew in Calgary
Hired a crew off Kijiji last summer to spray foam my detached garage in Calgary. They were $1,200 cheaper than the quote from a proper company. Six months later the foam is pulling away from the walls and there's moisture problems. Has anyone else had a bad experience with bargain insulation work in Alberta?

...and that's pretty much exactly what happened when my cousin tried to save money on a roof patch in Edmonton. Guy off Facebook marketplace, half the price of a real roofer. Looked fine for about two months, then it rained hard and water was dripping right through his kitchen ceiling. Ended up costing him double to get it fixed proper because the cheap patch made the damage way worse. I swear, some people just think they can do spray foam or roofing or anything and walk away. But the thing is, foam is tricky stuff, if the mix isn't right or they don't prep the surface, it's gonna fail. I bet those guys didn't even check the humidity or temperature before they sprayed. You're honestly lucky it's just pulling away and not growing mold behind there.
