Our town's welfare applications are now handled by a computer system.

I saw it reject a valid form from a friend without a clear reason. What checks should be in place for these kinds of choices?

My friend Jake in Oakville had his housing aid form kicked back last week. The system just said 'incomplete' but every box was filled, and he even called to confirm. There should DEFINITELY be a human review option for when the computer gets it wrong.

Did your friend try the online upload? My buddy Lena's form got stuck for weeks until someone finally checked the file type.

How can it be incomplete when everything's filled?

Used to believe full automation was the only fair way to do things. Seeing a system reject a clearly filled form with no real explanation changed my mind completely. There has to be a simple, fast way for a person to look at it when the computer says no. The appeal process can't be another maze of forms. It makes the whole safety net feel broken when you need it most.
