Threw $200 into a cheap paint gun from Amazon and it sprayed like a garden hose
Bought a no-name HVLP gun for a quick fender job and the first pass left more orange peel than a citrus factory. Anyone else just stick with name brands after getting burned on bargain tools?

Yeah I've been there. The cheap guns just don't have the air cap or needle quality to lay down a smooth coat no matter how much you tweak the settings. After wasting money on two of those I finally bought a used Devilbiss and never looked back.

Man that's funny because I grabbed a $40 Harbor Freight special years ago and it still lays down paint better than my buddy's $300 Iwata lol. I swear half of it is just getting the mix right and cleaning it after every use.

You ever notice how half the stuff from Harbor Freight is either gonna fall apart or outlast your grandkids with no in between? I grabbed their little purple HVLP gun on a whim and it shoots so clean I'm almost scared to jinx it by cleaning it wrong. Meanwhile my friend's fancy Iwata sits in the cabinet because he's too scared to gum it up with cheap paint.
