Just lost a bid because the client ran my quote through ChatGPT
Happened last Thursday. Client in flagstaff asked me to email my bid. She said she put it into ChatGPT to check if it was fair. AI told her I was overcharging by 30%. Problem is my lumber prices were current and the AI was pulling from 2023 data. She picked someone else. Has anyone else had customers use AI like a second opinion on pricing?

Man, that's rough. Did you ask her what specific numbers the AI compared against or just take its word?

Friend of mine got audited by a similar AI system at work. He asked like three times what data points it used and the manager just kept saying "the algorithm flagged it." Turns out the AI was comparing his numbers against some random national average from three years ago, not his own department's history. Real helpful system when it doesn't even know your baseline.
