Choosing between two payroll services for my small crew
I had to pick between Gusto and Paychex for handling my three guys' pay and taxes. Went with Gusto because their setup fee was zero, and it just felt easier to use on my phone. So far it's been smooth for six months, and the direct deposit is a big time saver. Has anyone else switched payroll services recently and had a good experience?

Honestly, the setup fee was the deal breaker for me too. I was looking at a different service that wanted like two hundred bucks just to start, which felt crazy for basically typing in names and bank info. My old system made me print and mail paper checks, which I forgot half the time. Now it's just a few clicks on my laptop on Thursday and I'm done. The peace of mind is worth way more than the monthly cost.

Totally get that. Two hundred bucks just to get started is wild when you're already doing the work yourself. Forgetting to mail checks was my biggest stress too, it felt like a dumb mistake every single time. That Thursday click routine sounds perfect, honestly.

Tell me about it, that setup fee is a total scam. I wasted a whole afternoon setting up my own spreadsheet because I refused to pay it. The paper check thing was the worst, I'd find them stuck in my notebook weeks later. Switching to automatic payments changed my life, no more last minute panic. What service did you end up going with?
