PSA: Don't waste $40 on that 'bakery-grade' silicone mat set from that Instagram ad

I fell for it last month - bought a 3-pack of nonstick silicone mats from a brand called 'BakePro' after seeing them pop up in my feed. First batch of croissants I baked stuck worse than my grandma's old metal pans, and the edges started peeling after two uses. Anyone else get burned by those glossy Instagram baking tools?

I read somewhere that those mats are basically just rebranded craft store stuff.

That really stinks honestly. You think you're getting something special and it turns out to be the same stuff from the craft aisle with a higher price tag. It happens way too often in the crafting world and it's disappointing every single time. Like why do companies do that and hope nobody notices? I feel for you finding that out the hard way.

Ugh, does it feel like these Instagram ads are just a TOTAL scam sometimes? I swear they all use the same stock photos and fake reviews. I'm sorry that happened to you, it really sucks to drop $40 on something that's supposed to be quality and it turns into a sticky mess. The peeling edges after two uses is just inexcusable for something marketed as "bakery-grade". It's like they count on people not wanting to bother with a return or a chargeback. I've started just automatically ignoring any cooking tool that comes from a loud, flashy video ad now.
