And that wheat paste stuff is basically just flour and water cooked together, that's it. People think you need some fancy chemical glue from the craft store when really the old school tricks are way simpler and probably hold up better over time. I've messed around with book repair a little bit at home and the bone folder is the real secret weapon, it lets you get those creases super sharp without damaging the paper. A lot of folks say you have to use special tools but honestly you can get a decent bone folder for like eight bucks online and it'll last forever if you take care of it.

Oh man, the bone folder is a total game changer. I've fixed so many dog-eared pages in old paperbacks with just one of those and some basic wheat paste. No need for the expensive stuff at all.
