That guy at the bindery told me to skip PVA glue for leather repair

He said just use rubber cement, it'll hold fine. By last week the spine on my customer's journal completely separated and I had to redo the whole thing. Anyone else had a project ruined by bad glue advice?

Rubber cement has its place for temporary holds but that guy was dead wrong for a permanent repair. Paste or proper leather glue would've saved you that headache.

Whoa, rubber cement is a crime against bookbinding!

Yikes, hard agree with @laura_chen41 on that one. Rubber cement is just asking for trouble on a spine.
