Warning: My bindings work fine without headbands

I started skipping headbands on my books a few years ago. I was sure they would come apart with use. But I handle them every day and they're still tight. I think headbands are overrated for most bindings. What do you all think?

Some bindings really do need them, but for most it's just extra.

Yeah when you say "never used them either" it hits different. People act like it's a huge deal (like a moral failing or something) but honestly... is it? Most stuff online gets blown way out of proportion for no real reason.
