Hit 500 different plant species in my backyard log and it's getting out of hand
I was updating my plant spreadsheet last night, adding a few new ferns from a local swap, and the total hit 500. It's not just the number, it's that I realized I've spent over $3,000 on pots and soil this year alone trying to keep up. My garage is basically a nursery now, and I'm running out of room for my actual car. Has anyone else hit a point where their collection just became a full time job to manage?

Wait, three thousand dollars just on pots and dirt? That's a whole used car right there. I can't even picture what 500 plants looks like, my apartment has like six and it feels like a jungle already.

My friend's greenhouse collapsed under the weight of his pots, and @west.casey is right about the cost.
