Grocery store brand mac and cheese vs the fancy stuff, my wallet won
Tuesday night I stood in the pasta aisle holding a 98 cent box of generic shells and a $4.50 artisan white cheddar kit. I grabbed the cheap one because my truck needed an oil change and I wasn't about to drop 40 bucks at the mechanic and eat fancy noodles. Cooked it up with butter and milk, threw in a handful of shredded cheddar from the back of the fridge, and honestly it tasted like a solid 7 out of 10. The real win was having 3 bucks left for a bag of frozen broccoli to stretch it into two meals. Anyone else find that a little sprinkle of something on the cheap stuff closes the gap?
