Rant: The new 'budget' grocery store in Springfield is missing the point

I checked out that new FreshSaver Market that opened downtown last Tuesday, and their idea of a 'value' section is just sad. They had a tiny rack of dented cans and day-old bread, but the rest of the store was priced just like the regular supermarket. For a place that claims to help families save, having only about 10 feet of actual deals feels like a total marketing trick. Has anyone found a spot that actually has real low-cost staples, or is this the new normal?

Marketing trick" is a bit dramatic, it's just a store.
