inVent: That popular collector at my local shop gave me horrible advice
Treat their random personal habits like gospel truth" is such a perfect way to put it lol. Ngl I used to be one of those people who thought warming up the car forever was necessary. My dad always did it and I just assumed it was a fact. But honestly after reading stuff like this and talking to a few car guys I realized it's mostly just old habits dying hard. Now I just give it like 30 seconds tops and go. Funny how we just adopt stuff from family without ever questioning it.

inMy IT buddy told me to ditch Google for DuckDuckGo 2 years ago, I finally did last month and saw the difference immediately
That targeted ad thing is real scary when you think about how much data they're grabbing without you even knowing. Why does a company need to know what you whispered near your phone just to sell you stuff? Doesn't it creep you out that they can listen in like that when you least expect it?

inWish someone told me sooner about clipper blade alignment
Happens with so many things in life, right? Sometimes you're looking for this big complicated fix when it's just one tiny thing that's been off the whole time.

inBlew a gasket on a 6 inch line before I figured out my torque pattern was off
Funny how the smallest thing like bolt order can turn a simple job into a whole afternoon of frustration. My dad taught me that cross-pattern trick when I was helping him fix lawnmower engines as a kid (he was a real stickler for it), but nobody ever explained WHY it mattered until I blew a head gasket on my own car. The real kicker is that a lot of those "basic" lessons get overlooked because the old-timers assume you just know it. Maybe it's less about learning late and more about how nobody writes down the obvious stuff until someone messes it up.
