PSA: My flight to Mexico City went from $850 to $320 in two days because I changed one thing
I was looking at flights for a trip in October and the price was stuck at around $850 for a direct round trip. I checked every day for a week and it never moved. Then I read a tip about clearing your browser cookies and using a private window. I did that on a Tuesday, and the exact same flight on the same airline was $320. I booked it right away. It felt like magic, but it's just how those booking sites track you and bump up prices if they see you looking a lot. I always thought that was a myth, but seeing the number drop by over $500 made me a believer. Has anyone else had a price drop that huge just from a simple trick like that?

That trick probably worked, but the price drop was likely just normal airline price changes.

Actually saw a fare jump back up after checking, then drop right after clearing cookies. It's not just random timing.

Trust me, I've cleared my cookies more times than I can count. Sometimes it feels like magic, @morgan_king36, but yeah, half the time it's just the airline's weird pricing doing its normal thing.

You said it's just normal price changes, but I've tested this a lot and clearing cookies absolutely triggers a lower fare sometimes. The timing is too perfect to be a coincidence. Airlines definitely track your visits to create urgency.
