My sister told me to track every single dollar for a month

She said it would be eye opening, so I wrote down every coffee and snack for 30 days. I found I was spending almost $200 a month just on small things I forgot about. I cut that down to $50 by making coffee at home and it felt like a raise. Has anyone else tried this and been shocked by a specific category?

I deleted the apps and started keeping sandwich stuff at work.

Oh man, aaron740, "real shocker" is right. I once looked at my monthly total from all those apps and almost fell over. It was like three separate charges for "Uber Eats," plus DoorDash, and even a random pizza place app. I had to stop cold turkey for a month because I was basically paying a second car payment just for someone to bring me tacos. How do you even start to cut back on that?
