Found out my monthly habit tracker was lying to me all along
I was looking at my sleep log from January and noticed I had checked off 28 nights of 7+ hours... but I actually only got that much sleep 12 nights. Turns out I was filling in the boxes at the end of the week from memory instead of day by day. Has anyone else realized their trackers are more wishful thinking than real data?

You had 28 checked off but only 12 real ones" - that's wild. I gotta ask though, did you ever look back at those weeks and think "yeah I definitely slept fine that night" when you really didn't? Like, was your brain just filling in the blanks with what you wanted to be true, or were you actually that out of touch with your own sleep? I'm curious if you caught yourself actively lying or if it felt real at the time. Because that's the scary part to me - realizing your own memory is just making stuff up to make you feel better.

Oh man, I was straight up gaslighting myself every morning like "yep, totally knocked out" when my actual sleep data looked like a restless toddler's naptime. My brain was basically the dude from that "this is fine" meme while everything was on fire.

Tracking sleep with a cheap fitness watch finally showed me I was only getting four hours of real sleep most nights.
