Told my sister I couldn't babysit her three kids for the fifth weekend in a row, she called me selfish and hung up

I was standing in my kitchen in Phoenix last Saturday morning when she rang me up at 7 AM demanding I watch them so she could go to a spa day, and I finally said no after months of being her free daycare. Has anyone else had a sibling act like you owe them your time just because you're related?

That "selfish" comment really gets me because it sounds like she's the one not seeing things from your side for months. You have a right to your own weekends after being the backup plan so many times, and a spa day is a want not an emergency need. Setting a boundary doesn't make you a bad sister, it just makes you a person who needs a break too.

That first sentence you wrote is exactly right - she's been the one not seeing things from his side, not the other way around. Good for him for finally putting his foot down.

But has she ever actually said sorry for treating you like an on-call sitter?
