Biscuit joiners get a bad rap, but mine just aced a tricky corner cabinet.
Purists insist on dominoes, but my biscuit joiner made this job a BREEZE and the fit is perfect.

Honestly this happens with so many stuff these days. People get obsessed with the high end, fancy tool and act like the basic version is junk. It's like non-stick pans versus cast iron, or a basic hand mixer versus a stand mixer. If the simpler tool gets the job done perfectly, you saved yourself a lot of money and hassle for the same result. The gatekeeping in some hobbies is just silly.

Totally, it's like they forget hobbies are supposed to be fun. All that elitism just ruins the vibe.

Last week on a vinyl record group, some guy was getting roasted for owning a Crosley suitcase player. People were saying it ruins records and you need a $500 setup minimum. I checked his profile, and he had photos of his collection, clearly loving the music. The gatekeeping just sucks the joy out of it. Reminds me of coffee snobs who act like a French press is trash compared to a pour-over rig. If the hobby makes you happy, who cares about the gear.

Ugh, tell me about it. Saw a guy get ripped for using a cheap fishing rod. He was catching fish just fine. People act like you need a mortgage for a hobby. Just let folks enjoy things.
