My crimper died halfway through a 12-unit apartment complex in Nashville

I was on the third floor of this old building yesterday, running coax for a new install. About 30 connections in, my crimper just seized up. Couldn't close the jaws all the way, so every connector was loose. I tried oiling it right there on the job - no luck. Had to drive 20 minutes back to the shop to grab my backup, lost nearly an hour of work. The customer was watching me the whole time too, standing in the doorway with this look. Has anyone else had a tool fail at the worst possible moment and had to scramble?

...and then the guy just stood there watching me sweat, didn't even offer to grab me a water or anything. I had a pair of strippers lock up on me once in an attic in July, stripped the jacket clean off the cable and left the copper exposed. Had to finish the run with my teeth, which is not a story I tell my boss.

Idk about you but I'd be calling that customer out for not helping or at least staying out of the way. Standing there gawking while you're trying to fix your crimper? That's just rude. @grantt39 had the right idea doing what you gotta do with your teeth, but that's a last resort for sure. Did the customer actually say anything to you when you finally got the backup crimper going or did they just keep staring?
