I finally realized my tent footprint was supposed to be smaller than the tent
After 4 years of camping, a ranger at Yellowstone pointed out that my footprint was sticking out past the tent edges. He said I was basically creating a bathtub for rainwater to pool under me. Has anyone else been doing this wrong for years?

Yeah that ranger was right, I used to think bigger was better too. After getting soaked one rainy trip I finally had to admit it was my own doing. Changed my whole setup after that.
