Brought up a minor oversight in a mutual aid group's budget and got called a bad faith actor within 2 hours
I asked why we spent $230 on branded merch when the donation bin was empty last quarter, and instead of an answer they banned me from the Slack and told the community I was secretly trying to sabotage the collective, so now I'm wondering if any level of good faith critique is possible in spaces built around shared values.

Sounds like the real sabotage is the merch budget.

Solidarity for real lol. I've been to shows where the merch table legit looked like someone forgot to order anything at all, just had one small box of t-shirts in random sizes. Like bro you're a touring band in 2024, how is your only option a worn out medium that someone already stretched out and a 3XL that fits like a parachute. Venues take such a huge cut of everything these days, bands gotta at least try with the merch or theyre leaving money on the pavement. Whoever is handling that budget needs to get their act together.
