Back when I started, nobody talked about imposter syndrome
I was at a conference last month in Austin and a young guy asked me how I dealt with feeling like a fraud. I told him 15 years ago we just suffered in silence and figured it out. Three years ago I finally told my boss about it and he laughed and said he still feels it sometimes. Has anyone else noticed this shift where people actually talk openly about their doubts now?

Ha! Guess we just leveled up from silent suffering to open suffering.

Seems like we're all just trading one kind of pain for another these days.

You ever notice how we went from not talking about anything real to oversharing everything? It's like the whole world flipped a switch. We used to just grind through shit alone, no questions asked. Now everyone's got a name for their problems and a podcast episode about it. I'm not saying it's bad, but there's something weird about putting a label on every damn insecurity. Feels like we traded one cage for another.
