Appreciation post: The time I had to fix a seam that popped in a finished house in Phoenix because the homeowner cranked the AC down to 60 before we were done.
I was finishing up a glue-down job in a 120-degree garage, walked inside to grab my knife, and saw a perfect 4-foot wave in the middle of the living room because the temperature shift made the backing contract way too fast, so I had to cut a new piece, seam it in place with the HVAC off, and wait two hours with the homeowner for it to settle, which makes me wonder what's the weirdest environmental issue you've had to work around on a job?

60 degrees in Phoenix sounds like a cry for help, honestly. I can't believe you had to just sit there for two hours waiting.

Try explaining to a client why their brand new floor looks like a topographic map of the Alps because they decided to host a pool party with all the doors open in a rainstorm. I spent a whole afternoon using a hair dryer on low heat to slowly coax the planks back into place while dodging questions about whether my install was defective. The real defect was their understanding of basic wood movement.

Man that story from @logan561 is just PERFECT. It's like people think their house is a sealed museum case, not a living thing that reacts to a monsoon in the living room. You see this everywhere, where folks buy nice stuff but skip the basic care rules. Then they're shocked when reality hits and the floor turns into a roller coaster. It's a total failure to connect cause and effect.
