Dropped $300 on a powered knee kicker and it changed the game
Got it for a big commercial job in a Phoenix office building, all that Berber carpet. My old manual kicker was killing my shoulder after the first few rooms. This thing has a little motor that does the hard push for you, just guide it. Saved me at least two hours on the install and zero pain the next day. Anyone else using these for large spaces or am I just late to the party?

Changed the game" is a bit strong for a tool that just does the pushing. The real skill is still in the stretch and the set, which that motor can't do for you. Feels like it's taking a shortcut on the craft.

I saw a potter on YouTube talk about this exact point. They said calling it a shortcut misses how it changes your focus. Your hands are free to really work the clay shape instead of fighting the wheel speed. It's not about replacing skill, it's about moving that skill to a different part of the process. The craft is in what you make, not how hard you had to pedal.

Guess my old shoulder pain was just a badge of honor, according to mary_nelson71. That motor lets me focus on doing the stretch right, not just mustering the push. Sometimes the shortcut is just a smarter path.
