Old timer at the shop proved me wrong about roughing up the fixture plate

Guy named Jerry told me to stop cleaning the T-slots with acetone every job swap because it was wasting time. I tried his method of just blowing them out with air instead and my last 50 parts came out within .002 tolerance where I used to struggle. Anybody else have a mentor who made you change a habit you thought was gospel?

Man that's a solid lesson right there, Jerry sounds like he knows his stuff.

Yeah but did he tell you the part about flushing the system twice, @cole_flores44? I learned that one the hard way after I skipped it and had to redo everything.

@karencampbell you are so right about that. I messed up the first time too, thought one flush was enough. Ended up with air bubbles in the lines for days. Jerry never said anything about doing it twice but now I tell everyone. Better to waste a little extra time than redo the whole thing from scratch. Learned that lesson the hard way just like you did.
