Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say the moon landings were faked by a guy who worked on special effects for 2001 A Space Odyssey

He said the director used the same blue screen techniques from the movie to stage the Apollo footage, and I spent the next 20 minutes wondering why no one ever mentions how NASA got help from Hollywood, has anyone else heard this specific one?

I actually ran into this exact guy at a comic con a few years back, he had a whole binder of 'evidence' and was yelling at anyone who would listen lol. He brought up the same 2001 connection and even claimed the stars in the Apollo photos were wrong because Kubrick knew they had to be placed differently for a vacuum. Honestly I had to walk away because he was getting way too heated about it.

Oh man, I actually saw a YouTube video about this whole thing once. It said Kubrick filmed the moon landings because NASA hired him to make it look real. Kinda wild how people get so stuck on stuff like that.

Ngl that story from @michael_green44 is kinda wild, it actually made me rethink this whole thing. I used to be one of those people who thought the moon landing was fake and watched all those YouTube videos from @lily57's comment about Kubrick. But hearing that the guy was yelling at people with a binder at a comic con just sounds sad, like he's more about being right than actually having proof. Tbh it kind of snapped me out of it realizing some of these believers are just obsessed with the idea rather than the facts.
