Serious question, did anyone else think the whole 'birds aren't real' thing was just a joke?

I saw the stickers and memes for years and laughed it off. Then I watched a 2 hour documentary on YouTube last week about the actual history of the US military using drones disguised as wildlife. They showed declassified papers from the 1970s about Project Aquiline. It wasn't about replacing all birds, but they really did build robotic spy birds. It made me look at other 'joke' conspiracies differently. What's another one that started as a meme but has some weird truth to it?

That documentary is wild, right? It makes you wonder about the whole "lizard people" thing. That started as a joke, but then you find out David Icke's core idea is about a secret group of elites, not literal reptiles. The meme took over, but the real conspiracy theory is about hidden power networks. What part of that original idea do you think got totally lost once it became an internet joke?

The whole point about bloodlines and generational control got buried. Icke talked about these families keeping power for centuries, like a hidden aristocracy. Now it's just a joke about scales and forked tongues. The meme makes it easy to laugh off, so nobody has to think about the uncomfortable idea that a small group really might steer world events from behind the scenes.

Honestly, I think the joke helped. It made the core idea about hidden power look just as silly, so people could finally ignore it.
