Hot take: a 20 minute daily huddle saved my 40 unit framing job in Tulsa last week
We were 3 days behind on phase 2 and guys were stepping on each other, so I tried a standup at 6:30am with donuts and suddenly everyone knew who was doing what. Has anyone else had a short meeting actually fix a schedule, or did it just work for me because the crew was small?
Those morning huddles are legit, ran the same thing on a 60 unit apartment rough in down in Broken Arrow and it did the same thing for us. Trick is keeping it short and standing up, cause the second guys sit down it turns into a 45 minute gripe session lol. We do ours at 6:45 and everybody says what they got done yesterday and what they're hitting today, takes 15 minutes tops. The donuts are a smart move too, hungry framers listen better. Only thing I'd add is write the big stuff on a whiteboard or a scrap of osb so the guys who show up late still see it. If you let it run long or start skipping days it falls apart fast.
