Subcontractor rant changed my mind about daily standups
I always thought morning huddles were a waste until I overheard our drywall guy tell the GC he'd be 3 days late because nobody told him the MEP rough-in wasn't done. Now I do a 10-minute huddle at 7am with all the crew leads. Has anyone else found a quick check-in saves them from schedule blowups later?

Man, if I had a dollar for every time I assumed someone was on the same page and got burned... I'd have enough to pay my drywall guy to wait around for me. Nothing like learning the hard way that "should be fine" is just a polite way of saying "good luck with that.

Man that's a real bummer about the drywall guy, it's crazy how a simple miscommunication can throw everything off. I've seen that kind of thing happen too many times myself so I totally get why you'd make the switch. Good for you for catching it early, those ten minutes probably save everyone a headache.
