Heard a client say she hasn't had a real shampoo in a salon since 2019, just uses dry shampoo.
It made me realize how many people might be skipping the foundational steps we were taught. Anyone else seeing this and adjusting their consultation questions?

Honestly had a client last month who only used dry shampoo for like a year. The second I wet it, it turned into this weird, sticky paste. Tbh I just told her straight up we needed an extra clarifying wash before anything else, no charge. It saved the cut and she was cool about it. Now I always ask about their at home wash routine too, not just salon visits.

Hold up, she hasn't had her hair actually washed with water in a salon since before the pandemic? That's wild. My brain can't even process the buildup situation. I'd be adding "when was your last proper shampoo" to my consultation checklist immediately, because that changes everything. You can't build a house on a dirty foundation, you know?

Wait, do you think some people are scared of salons now or just trying to save money? Either way, that's a whole lot of dry shampoo and product gunk to work through.
