Rant: My portable shampoo bowl pump gave out mid-service at a wedding in Boise
Was doing bridesmaid updos at the Riverside Hotel last Saturday when the pump on my Tressa Mobile Spa unit just died. Had to run cold water from the hotel sink into a pitcher for the final two clients. Anyone know a more reliable brand for on-location work? My backup is a cheap Amazon one and I don't trust it.

Been there, it's the worst feeling. I switched to a Porta-Pro after my pump died at a backyard bridal party. Their pump has a metal housing, not plastic, and I've had zero issues for two years now. It's a real workhorse for on-location stuff.

Man that's the worst timing possible. Those Tressa units are supposed to be good but I've heard a few stories like this. You need something that can take a beating. Look at the Porta-Pro systems, they cost more but the pumps are built different. I'd never trust a cheap Amazon backup for a wedding gig, that's just asking for more stress.
