Man that is brutal. A whole year of your life for something so small and simple. I had a similar thing happen with a medical bill that was only 50 bucks but ended up on my report wrong. Took me almost eight months and three different phone calls for them to finally admit it was their mistake. It drives me crazy how hard it is to get these companies to fix their own errors. You gotta respect the patience it took to see it through.

Three different phone calls for eight months, you got off easy lol. I spent a year arguing with a utility company over a 15 dollar late fee that was their screw-up, and by the end I think I knew the hold music better than my own family. At this point I'm pretty sure the real challenge isn't the mistake, it's trying not to lose your mind during the 47th transfer.

Hang on, was it the credit bureau that messed up, or was it whoever reported the mistake in the first place? I've always wondered who's really to blame in these situations, because it feels like neither side wants to take responsibility. Like, you finally get one to fix it, but the other one just passes the buck. Just curious how you even figured out where the actual screw-up started.
